The process of repairing worn out  front wheel bearings is a fairly simple process which basically starts with identifying the fact that they are worn. A worn wheel bearing will show itself by a grinding noise that will come from the wheels as well as uncharectaristic handling coming from the car.

The process that you, or preferbly your mechanic would go through to replace the wheel bearing would be the following:

1. Removing the wheel, brake calipers and brake discs.

2. Disonnecting the driveshafts by removing the split pin on the hub and un tightening the nut.

3. The next thing you would want to do is to disconneect the tie-rod end and do this by removing the split pin and undoing the nut on the tie-rod end and by using a hammer to smack the tie rod end from its housing.

4. After removing the tie rod end , remove the ball joint in a similar fashion, by removing the split pin and using a hammer to free it.

5. After this the wheel hub will be free, and now you need to take it to someone with a pressing machine. This machine is a hydraulic contraption which will press the old bearing out of the housing and then it will press the new bearing backinto the new hub.

Once you have done this you can go ahead and return the hub back into its housing in the wishboneof the car. Replace the hub onto its lower ball joint and then subsequently the tie rod ends and  not forgetting to put the split pins. Also replace the brake calipers and pump the brakes to see if they are fine.
