Men over the years have been called many unpleasant names from the mild to the downright nasty. They have been called good for nothing, cowards, dogs, idiots in fact the list is endless. But here stand a man doing what he can, to the best of his abilities and yet somewhere out there, there is a person who will find something to belittle him about.

Here is an honest to God hard working man who provides for his family and still society does not give him a stamp of approval because he does not drive a fast car like so and so. It is disheartening when the value of a person is measured by the monetary things.

What happened to good old “he is a good man”? Yes man has done some pretty questionable things but who can point at himself and say I should have wings and a halo? No one would withstand that kind of scrutiny. What is needed is just good deeds and a good heart. Surely if what a human being is valued on what he has in his pocket then I fear humanity is lost.

We have lost a sense of who we are our centre has been corroded. I think that if a man any man were to stand before a mirror and examines himself and ask himself he is he worthy of being a man if he tells my story to the world will they call me a worthy man? Or he might have a conversation or maybe he might introduce himself to the world and if what he tells himself about himself does not make him run for the hills then he is worthy of being a man and no amount of money is worth that. In fact if he was to be put on sale based on the value he has decided to put on himself then nobody would be able to afford him.

A man might be useless to you but he is worth something to himself and that is all that matters. You can put a label on him but for as long as he feels good about himself no one will rain on his parade.
