This new version of the car will mimic the Golf 6, this is due to VW’s efforts to restore its look throughout the make. The new polo will utilize the patented PQ25 platform that is used for similar small hatches like the Seat Ibiza and the new Audi A2.

 

With a special range of engines which are a 72bhp 1.2 liter TDI diesel which has 180Nm of Torque. Also the petrol units come with three engine variants of the same engine capacity. There will be three variants of the 1.4 liter petrol engine and also three variants of the 1.6 diesel engine. These engines will be mated with either automatic or manual gearboxes or the DSG Gearbox which will make its way to selected models.

 

Due to be unveiled in late 2009 we can only speculate that this car will arrive South Africa in early 2010!
