I have been watching the news unfold about how South Africans protesting service delivery have turned on to their fellow African brothers and attacked and looted their lively hood. I asked myself what really would push a person to that?

In my mind, I kept on running back to that ugly and horrible monster apartheid. In my opinion, during that era black people did not really own anything and their civil rights were close to non existent. The average black man was subject to the apartheid system.

Then boom, democracy comes bouncing along. With that, comes the realisation that things can and should get better. And in that same breath they are told that they have to share the good things with their fellow African brethren. Unfortunately for the foreigners seeking a better life their South African brothers and sisters are not conditioned to share. Apartheid has managed to rear its ugly head and show the fruits of its labour still.

It is now apartheid perpetrated on by black people on black people!

That is the worst kind (of apartheid), because a fellow black person can never in his wildest dream imagine that kind of violence and vulgarity existing and it is not even feasible to fathom that the spirit of humanity (Ubuntu ) is lost among us sons and daughters of the soil.

If apartheid never existed at all then South Africans would be able to embrace any and everyone without any prejudice. They would understand the concept of co-existence and we all would live happily ever after.
