Firebug has become the de facto standard for most developers. In many efforts to bridge the gap between interface designers and interface developers, comes a very useful extensions to the Firebug family, PixelPerfect!
Pixel Perfect is Firefox Firebug’s extension that allows web developers and designers alike to overlay a design over the developed HTML.
While developing you can toggle on and off, the design, so that you can visually see how many pixels are off development. How far the developed HTML is from replicating the design as accurate as it is provided.
It has some nifty features like opacity option which enables you to see the HTML below the design. Allowing you to simultaneously use Firebug to correct the HTML while the design is still right there.
For some of us who work with particularly pedantic designers who want everything pixel perfect this is an invaluable tool.
Though of course they may be differences in how the final HTML renders in different browsers and various Operating Systems, this tool will shed your development time by an easy 40% – 50%.
You can download your copy from PixelPerfect site!
Enjoy…
