The Law of Attraction doesn’t rest and neither do the vibrations we emit. If you are feeling anything, be it sadness, anger, joy or anything in between, the Law of Attraction is constantly matching you with similar vibrations. Due to the consistent nature of this universal law, we are literally always creating our circumstances. The problem, though, is most of us are so caught up in habitual, negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs that we have trouble changing the signals we are sending out.
LOA is the fairest and most even-handed “friend” you have. It never judges what you ask for; it only provides it to you with total obedience. Where things become tricky is coming to understand what we’re really asking for. Since the universe is vibrational, it “pays attention” to vibrational frequencies and not words. So what’s the difference between the two? Let’s have a look.
I want you to say to yourself, “I am a multi-millionaire.” Now say, “I never have enough money”. Which of those statements generated a feeling in you? Probably “I never have enough money”, right? If you didn’t get a feeling from this example, try to think of something negative you feel is true and then its opposite. Then say them both and see if the negative statement generates a feeling. What we’ve just seen is that certain words generate an emotional response in us and others don’t. Statements that we don’t believe to be true (I’m a multimillionaire) have no emotional impact and ones that we do believe to be true (I never have enough money) will conjure up an emotional response. There is a problem, though. Most of us have spent a lifetime learning how to feel bad and when we think positively, we don’t generate positive feelings but when we think negatively, we easily create sinking feelings of anxiety and dread.
Feelings have a measurable frequency and every time we feel something we are sending signals to the universe that this feeling is what we would like more of. So when you are rushing around stressed that you’re running late for work or you’re upset that you’re sitting in a traffic jam you are saying to the universe, “I’d like more of this, please” and, again, since the universe doesn’t judge your choice, it simply says, “As you wish”. Have you noticed that when you’re really upset about something, things just seem to get worse and worse? The more you stay upset, the more negativity you are attracting to yourself.
Now, most people object and say, “But I DON’T want more of this! The universe should be smart enough to know I want the OPPOSITE of being late or stuck in the traffic jam” and even though your words say that, your vibrations don’t. To the universe, words alone are like whispers where strong feelings are like shouting through a megaphone.
So why doesn’t the universe decipher our true meaning and give us what we really want? We live in a Free Will Universe and this means that we have the incredible ability to choose whatever we want, even if it sabotages or limits us. Due to the nature of creation, all things are vibrational and that seems to be the common-thread “language” shared by all things. As much as people don’t like it, this universe isn’t set up to decipher and interpret our vibrations and make decisions based on what it thinks we’re really asking for. Instead, it is a very literal system that acts much like a Xerox machine. What goes in comes out. The missing element in this equation has been the understanding that it is our vibrational state, determined by our feelings, that is what’s being copied and not our rational thoughts that we express through words.
So how can we use the Law of Attraction to create what we want? Feel good about what you prefer and stop feeling bad about what you don’t. When you find yourself running late for work, as hard as it might seem, stop worrying about it, relax, and place your attention on something that makes you feel good. Think about when you first saw your children when they were born or the day you were married or your dog curled up at your feet. Find something that makes you smile and feel good and remember it when things are going wrong. It might sound simple but I can tell you from experience that it makes all the difference. To use traffic jams as an example, there have been times where I was sitting in traffic and I knew I was going to be late but when I took my mind off worrying and placed my attention on something that felt good, not only did the traffic clear up but I got to my destination early…without speeding.
As irrational as all this might sound, it’s worth experimenting with. So far, you’ve lived your life like most people. You’ve focused your attention on negativity, limitation, scarcity, lack and all the things going wrong and and what has been the result? Negativity. So clearly LOA works if focusing on the negative brings more negative. So why not try turning it around and seeing how many positive things you can draw to you? Take some time and play with this. It does take a little while to get used to placing your attention on feeling good instead of focusing on the negative.
