Audi has decided to enter the small SUV segment by further expanding its range of cars to achieve a greater market share. We have seen Audi enter the SUV market with the big Audi Q7 and recently in 2009 it has also released the Audi Q5. The Audi Q3 is the smallest incarnation of this SUV line-up, speculation is that Audi plans to be able to build about 80 000 units yearly from its plant in Spain.
The Audi Q3 is going to be available in both 3-door and 5-door variants it will probably be based on the PW35 platform used in the Audi A3. The engines shall range from a 2.0L 147kW TFSI engine, a 3.0L 171kW turbo diesel V6 and a 3.6L 210kW FSI V6.
